Using my iPad and sharing my screen on Teams, I like to try and understand the student’s view of a topic to see where they’re tripping up or encountering difficulty. Depending on how proficient I believe they are I will either go through an example question by myself while explaining every step in my method; guide them through their working as they attempt the question; or let them have an initial crack at the question and ask them to explain their rationale behind their working before correcting any mistakes they may have made. I believe letting students at least attempt to spot connections or make mistakes of their own helps to speed up the learning process.
