My lessons are structured and tailored to each student to allow as much interaction as possible as I think this is key to aiding understanding and making lessons enjoyable. To begin with, I believe it is important to identify each student’s academic goals and any areas of weakness or difficulty to focus on in lessons. This allows me to plan accordingly so the student can get the most out of lessons to consolidate their knowledge and to feel confident and happy! I would start by outlining objectives for each lesson so the student has a goal to complete and can self-assess to track their learning. My tutoring sessions will also involve worked examples and opportunities for the student to try questions. This allows the student to consolidate their knowledge, as well as working on their exam technique. During my years at school and university, I found that past paper questions and exam techniques are key to success.
