Hi, I’m Romek. I am an R&D Engineer with a PhD in Theoretical Physics from the University of Glasgow and a First-Class degree in Mathematics with Physics from the University of Strathclyde.

Alongside my research career, I spent four years as a Tutor-Demonstrator, teaching undergraduate Mathematics, Physics and computational methods. I enjoy helping students build confidence by breaking down complex ideas into simple, logical steps and adapting lessons to their individual needs.

Having come to science later in life as a mature student, I understand that everyone learns differently. My aim is to make Mathematics and Physics engaging, approachable and enjoyable, while helping students develop greater confidence in the subjects.

At Central Tutors, I support students studying SQA Mathematics and Physics, including National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher, alongside university-level learners. My focus is on developing strong subject understanding, problem-solving skills and confidence.

I have four years’ experience teaching as a Tutor-Demonstrator at the University of Glasgow, where I supported undergraduate students in mathematics, physics, computational methods and laboratory classes. My teaching included small-group tutorials, one-to-one support and helping students develop confidence in solving challenging problems. I also provide private tuition in mathematics and physics, tailoring lessons to each student’s individual needs.

My lessons are interactive and tailored to each student’s pace, combining visual explanations, worked examples and guided problem-solving to build both understanding and confidence. Whenever appropriate, I connect classroom concepts to real-world engineering applications, helping students appreciate why the mathematics and physics they are learning matter.
For SQA students, I use appropriate course content and exam-style problem solving to help develop both subject understanding and confidence when approaching assessments.
