Hi, I’m Graeme. I am a research mathematician and statistician with three degrees from the University of Edinburgh: a PhD in Statistics, an MSc in Statistics with Data Science with Distinction and a First-Class degree in Mathematics.

At Central Tutors, I specialise in tutoring SQA National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher Mathematics and Statistics. My academic background means I am particularly comfortable supporting students with more advanced mathematical concepts, while still ensuring that the underlying foundations are clear and secure.

I know that Maths and Statistics can often feel intimidating for students, but I believe that with the right support, clear explanations and enough practice, students can develop both confidence and a much stronger understanding of the subject.

In addition to tutoring secondary school students within the Scottish education system, I also gained extensive university teaching experience during my PhD. This gave me the opportunity to work with students at different stages of mathematical development and helped shape my calm, structured and adaptable approach to tutoring.
